James, son of Kyle, spent his childhood climbing trees, fishing, and building tree houses, zip lines, and makeshift watercraft. In high school he enjoyed playing the bass guitar and competed at the state level in bowling. James studied civil engineering at the University of Kansas. James’ love of spending time outdoors hiking, biking, rock climbing, and camping led him to exploring the canyons of Utah in 2011 where he met his future wife, Alicia.
James joined the PetroBase team in 2013 to help his father expand the company. He has immersed himself into PetroBase and the oil and gas business acquiring knowledge in everything from software development, computer programming, data-basing, and the ins and outs of drilling and operating.
James married his wife Alicia in 2013 and started their family with the birth of a son in 2015. These days James enjoys spending his spare time with his family, 2 dogs and bearded dragon, as well as working in the yard, bike riding, and polishing rocks. He is an avid rock and fossil collector and takes after his grandfather, Larry, in his interest in geology.
